07H00 – 19H00
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from your accommodation in Marrakech. As you leave the city behind, you’ll journey through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, where winding roads offer spectacular views of rugged landscapes and remote Berber villages perched on hillsides.
Tizi n’Tichka Pass
At an altitude of 2,260 meters, the Tizi n’Tichka Pass is the highest mountain pass in Morocco, offering breathtaking panoramic views. You’ll have opportunities to stop for photos and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Arriving at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll step into one of Morocco’s most well-preserved fortified villages. This ancient ksar, built of red clay and mud bricks, has been an important trading post for centuries and remains one of the most iconic symbols of Moroccan heritage.
A guided tour will take you through its labyrinthine passageways, marketplaces, and fortified homes, offering a glimpse into Berber traditions and architecture. The kasbah’s unique beauty has also made it a favorite Hollywood filming location, featuring in movies such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia.
Continuing to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara, you’ll explore the city’s film industry landmarks. Visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a grand palace that once belonged to the powerful Glaoui family. This beautifully restored fortress showcases intricate mud-brick architecture and ornate interiors, reflecting Morocco’s royal heritage.
You’ll also have the option to visit Atlas Film Studios, where famous blockbusters like The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia were filmed. Walking through the studio sets, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the world of cinema.
After exploring Ouarzazate, we’ll begin the return journey to Marrakech, enjoying the stunning sunset over the mountains. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation, bringing your memorable day trip to a close.

Learning about the country and culture was fascinating. His passion and knowledge of his country and the mountains was evident. The Berber family we visited were so hospitable and provided us with a beautiful meal. We chatted all-day and learned so much. His English was fantastic. The whole tour was very personal it didn’t feel like a manufactured tourist tour. Greg S2024-11-13Verified Superb trek in Morocco A fantastic trek with a superb lunch cooked and eaten in the house of a friendly local family. It was a great day to spend getting to see some of the “real” Morocco. Would definitely recommend this as a trip - far better than lounging around in your hotel! Mark M2024-11-07Verified Half day hike at Amizmiz We went on a half day hike above Amizmiz which was beautiful. Our walking guide Mouad is a truly inspiring individual whose conversation was incredibly engaging. We talked about everything from family life to the earthquake to the history of Morocco to the flora and fauna and so much more! Mouad is a beautiful character whose knowledge of the area was very complete. We returned to our hotel invigorated and excited by the experience. We recommend the morning time when it's cooler (this week was unseasonably hot). The area is stunningly beautiful and our experience unforgettable. Maps8238452024-09-05Verified Atlas Mountain with Mo, James and Flo Mouad was an incredible guide! We had the most amazing experience, trekking through the mountains and the forest with Mo. We also stopped at a local families home to share mint tea and delicious Tagine!Mo explained everything about his country, his hometown, politics and economy, culture and food, the invasion of France and of course how that changed with Morocco gaining independence. It was also incredibly moving to hear what was lost during the earthquake and heart warming to hear how everyone has come together in the wake of it to support and rebuild their communities.Big thank you again for this amazing experience during our honeymoon!
