Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and retreat to the lush Ourika valley along the Ourika river in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains for some peace and beautiful sceneries. Despite its proximity to Marrakech, it is a well-preserved valley, by its dazzling nature and traditional mountain way of life.
Get picked up from the riad or hotel in Marrakech and head out of the city towards the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas. Gaze out at the passing scenery as you drive by flowering gardens, orchards filled with fruit trees and traditional berber villages.
First stop will be at a family home to have tea with berber bread, followed by a visit to the women cooperative making Argan Oil.
Our journey continues deeper in the valley to Setti fatma. This village is neatly nestled in a canyon beneath the High Atlas mountains at the southern end of Ourika valley.
Savour a traditional tagine in either a Berber house or a restaurant by the river.
Here there is an option to hike up to see some beautiful cascades. One needs to bring comfortable footwear with a good GRIP because there is a lot of walking up the rocks, which are uneven, wet and slippery.
Alternatively, you can check out different hiking trails.
The price is fron 40 Euros per person per day
