Amizmiz, my hometown, is a picturesque village situated 56 km south of Marrakech, at the base of the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Renowned for its stunning and varied landscapes, Amizmiz offers visitors an enchanting mix of natural splendor, historical significance, and genuine cultural heritage.

With over eight centuries of history, the village features remnants of Almoravid military forts dating back to the 11th century, as well as colonial-era buildings from the early 20th century, left by French settlers. Traveling through the Anougal Valley, you’ll encounter ruins of old colonial houses and former mining sites, each echoing stories from a distant past.

Yet, Amizmiz is more than its history; it’s a celebration of its people, breathtaking surroundings, and the enduring Berber way of life, which has remained largely untouched for generations.
